While other companies offer you a handful of choices, Challenger Lighting Company offers an exceptional variety of expertly hand-applied paints and stains for wood, metal, ceramic, shatterproof, resin and acrylic finishes. Metal Plated

Applied to metal to create finishes, such as polished or brushed nickel on steel. Plating requires polishing to smooth the metal surface. Intricate features or large pieces are sometimes difficult or costly to plate. Our standard plated finishes include Polished Nickel, Brushed Nickel, Polished Aluminum, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Polished Brass and Satin Brass. Other finishes are available as a custom order.

Powder Coating

Applied to metal to create a hard, corrosion-resistant finish color. Color options are available as a custom order.

Hand-Applied (painted)

This process is commonly used on metal, wood, resin, acrylic and ceramic to achieve the desired finish effect. Challenger uses a superior heavy-duty primer coated base before applying custom hand finishes. If you don’t see a desired faux technique, please inquire.

Ceramic

Glazing and high firing of ceramics produces a beautiful china-like finish. You can select from a wide array of Challenger sample chips or request a painted matte finish for your lamps.

Climatized Metal

All plated metal and wood finishes are protected with a clear lacquer finish to maximize the durability and longevity of the finish. In high humidity areas (coastal regions) we recommend additional finish protection available for an additional charge to prevent corrosion and rust.

Wood Staining

Challenger offers a broad selection of wood finishes. Please note, wood is a natural material with character, color and grain patterns, which vary even within the same tree. For this reason, we cannot guarantee that all lamps will have the same wood characteristics. Please request an actual wood sample for your reference, or supply your sample chip for custom matching at no extra cost.
